The mission of
PREACHER PAPERS
Welcome to Preacher Papers!
This website is designed to bring attention to outstanding gospel preachers in the American Christian community who have, for the most part, completed their ministerial vocation. We want to keep their memory alive and keep their influence lively among the current generation of gospel preachers. In addition, we want to provide inspiration and direction for those practitioners and scholars of preaching who are seeking resources for preaching, writing, and/or interpreting the recent history of Christianity in the United States.
We desire that gospel preachers of all Christian traditions in America be represented on this page: Evangelical, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Protestant, and Roman Catholic. We welcome your interest and your nomination of gospel preachers to be included in this web archive. If you are near the end of your own preaching ministry, we invite you to send a notice of your desire to place some of your preacher papers with us. However, we are not an archival library, and we encourage all preachers to locate a library in which to place your ministerial papers (even as you allow us to display a few elements of your preaching career).
Each preacher featured on this site is introduced with a biographical essay. We include up to ten sermon manuscripts, up to five audio or video sermon recordings, and a link to any other archive where the bulk of your ministerial papers are archived. In this way, we desire to be a gateway, inticing students, scholars, and preachers further into the examination of the lives and influence of gospel preacher of significance.
We will include a link from this site to any library which contains more of your preacher papers. In addition, we will occasionally post an essay or sermon about the archived preacher as a way to honor that particular preacher and also as a way to describe the ways in which the gospel preacher in question can continue to be a person of influence within the Christian community.
We all have much to learn from these faithful preachers of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Editors of
Preacher Papers
Dr. Felix Haynes and Dr. Dwight A. Moody, both retired gospel preachers and both residents of St. Simons Island, Georgia, have conspired to launch and manage this venture. We hope it inspires you to explore the preaching of these noble men and women. And we invite you to nominate preachers (including yourself!) for inclusion in this site.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
